1. Energy-Efficient Building Our facility in Hoofddorp was designed with sustainability in mind and boasts the highest possible energy rating (A+++++). With 18,000 solar panels, we generate more energy than we consume, making a significant contribution to a cleaner future. 2. Carbon-Neutral Art Storage Our storage facilities are completely carbon-neutral, equipped with advanced climate control systems and self-sufficient thanks to solar energy and heat pumps. This enables us to offer safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly storage solutions for valuable artworks.
3. Sustainable Packaging In collaboration with our partners, we develop packaging solutions that guarantee the highest level of safety while contributing to a sustainable future. 4. Zero-Emission Zones (ZEZ): Preparing for a Sustainable Future The introduction of Zero-Emission Zones (ZEZ) poses a significant challenge for the transport sector. At Kortmann, we understand the importance of an emission-free future and are taking the first steps toward a more sustainable fleet. While we have not yet fully transitioned to electric vehicles, we are making conscious choices to prepare for future regulations and opportunities.

Transition Period and Technological Developments
A transition period has been introduced to make this shift achievable, with restrictions increasing gradually over the next five years. This gives businesses time to adapt while we hope for accelerated technological advancements that make sustainable solutions more accessible. Though we cannot make definitive statements without assumptions, we continue to closely monitor these developments.

Our Future-Ready Fleet
Kortmann’s fleet is largely prepared for the new regulations:

• Vehicles under 3.5 tons: Access to ZEZ until December 31, 2027.
• One truck: Access to ZEZ until December 31, 2027.
• Other vehicles (in service as of January 1, 2025): Exempt from ZEZ regulations and allowed until January 1, 2030.

Sustainable Use of Resources
One exception in our fleet is a large truck we keep as a backup. Though technically retired, it remains in excellent condition and is ideal for specific projects, such as trips to Schiphol, art fairs like TEFAF, or other logistical challenges. Disposing of functional resources unnecessarily does not align with our sustainability vision.
