Upon request from Hasenkamp, two art handlers from Kortmann Art Packers & Shippers traveled to Doha, Qatar. They were there for three weeks to help set up the exhibition “El Anatsui: Triomphant Scale” along with the art handlers from Haus der Kunst München.

El Anatsui’s work consists, among other things, of huge parts of knotted round and oblong can lids. The artworks are provided with their reliefs on site by the way the parts are installed on the wall. The works “Mountain” and “Red Block”, visible in the images, are prepared on site by the art handlers, who ‘lay out’ the works based on the artist’s instructions. Up until a few days before the opening, the artist provides his adjustments and approval.
